Inspired by the symbiosis of many different musical backgrounds the stylistic diversity is the compositional main theme of the band. Rooted in Modern Jazz Etna enlarges their spectrum of musical styles from Afro and Funk to Rock with their latest production 'Waiting For The Sun'. The classical harmonies of Grizelj´s compositions bond with Andrea Hermenau´s melodious songs to an unmistakable web of sounds solemn by the powerful and dancing basslines of Yvo Fischer. The Bosnian roots of the guitarist generate influences of the Balkan. With the singing interpretation full of nuances the band enters the world of vocal jazz showing its versatility through the extension of the instrumental style. Let yourself be carried away to a magical world of sound and be inspired by a musical volcano! Etna was founded in 2002 by guitarist Grizelj and provided by volcanic activities from the eponym Ätna. In search of a new stylistic direction from already written compositions by Hermenau and Grizelj, Etna know how to use the creative sources of all band members to form a homogenous and independent band sound. Inspired and encouraged by winning the contest Jugend Jazzt 2002 and also a successful participation at the international talent contest New Generation, new compositions on the subject of autumn came up. The Quartet presents old and new autographic compositions, conducted by a seasonable fitting mood! |
